Dear Patients,
We are here, we are healthy and happy to be seeing patients, albeit at a slower pace. For everyone’s safety, you will notice some changes on your first visit back to our practice. We will call you prior to your appointment and ask a series of questions regarding your health. If you are at particularly high risk, not feeling well or have a temperature above 100.4, it may not be the best time for us to see you in the office and we will be happy to help you reschedule your appointment. We are available for a telehealth conference if needed. When you arrive for your appointment, please call our office from your car and one of our friendly staff members will come out to greet you, ask you similar screening questions and take your temperature. Remember to keep your car running with the air conditioner on when it’s hot outside! Next, we will bypass the reception room and take you straight to your appointed patient room where we’ll have you wash your hands and rinse your mouth twice with 1.5% peroxide and mouthwash. HEPA air filters are in each room and we use targeted negative pressure to capture aerosols during procedures. All this air filtration creates a pleasant white noise throughout the office but can make it difficult to hear so please forgive us if conversation is kept to a minimum. We ask that you follow up with us if you become ill or test positive for Coronavirus within two weeks following your visit. We are happy to share that the National Academy of Sciences has called dental offices one of the safest places you can visit and we have had no cases among staff or patients in the many weeks since we reopened. We know the usual sounds of laughter and conversation will soon return to our office, and we are immensely grateful for the understanding and cooperation all our patients continue to show.
